This is designed in a heavy brushed silverplate finish and set with a large black diamond rhinestone - there are tiny ABs (aurora borealis) stones scattered in the brushed silver. This set has a very Atomic feel to it or like a comet. The Set is in pristine condition, showing no wear at all. The Brooch measures 2 1/4"W x 1 1/2"L and the Earrings are 1" in Diameter - all pieces are domed. ENJOY! BERGÉRE was the trademark of Herbert & Pohs, Inc., founded in NYC in 1947. They discontinued production in the mid 1960s. Their jewelry was sold in the finer department stores such as Lord & Taylor and Marshall Field's in Chicago. Their jewelry is not common on the collectible market. Their jewelry was of fine workmanship and quality designs. Limited in production of lines, it is rare to find and has become highly collectible. Click for more detail... 0508S	Coro Rhinestone 'SMART SET' Necklace & Earrings - Book Piece What a treasure, a SMART SET in its original pink heart shaped velvet box -- still has the foil ticket showing "Advertised In VOGUE and LIFE. Smart Set was put out by Coro in 1957. The rhinestone choker/necklace measures 15"L x 1/2"W. It has a hook clasp so that you may adjust the length. The choker is made up of 38 5mm x 2mm marquis faceted rhinestones - 24 baguette rhinestones - 29 1mm round cut faceted rhinestones. The matching Dangle Earrings are 1 1/2"L x 5/8"W. Each Earring is designed with 11 rhinestones consisting of 6 marquis cut, 1 small round cut and 4 baguettes. The Earrings are screwback. The condition is very good, all stones present and the back shows little wear. I suspect the earrings were worn more often than the choker. This is a Collectors find! The SMART SET is shown in an advertisement in Roseann Ettinger's book "Forties & Fifties POPULAR JEWELRY with Price Guide on Page 79.
