| This is a real find. This Gold Retractable Toothpick is dated Aug 3 '27. So it is either 1827 or 1927. The entire case is finely etched and engraved in script with the initials EEA followed by the above date. On close examination under a loupe, it appears from looking at the top, that at one time there was an attachment - possibly a tag or chain - there is no marking as to metal - it looks like gold and the pick looks like gold. I surmise that it was marked on the once attached piece. It is in very good condition - and the etching/engraving is very detailed. This piece was bought as an antique back in the 1980s and was purported to be gold. It measures closed 2 1/8"Long x the rounded circumference of 1/2". ENJOY! this piece of the past. |
