| This is an unusual & beautiful Compact. It is designed in goldplated basemetal with the cover being black velvet with oriental gold embroidered Bamboo Trees. It is in excellent condition with the original powder still in the case having been used. It comes in its original pouch and was obviously carried in the pouch when used as evidenced by its condition. The goldplated cover to the powder section reads in script: Queen Star then it has the Trade Mark in a scrolled design of IMK followd by Patent. As yet I have not found anything on this mark or trade mark. But it could likely be one of the ships of the STAR lines wherein all ships named had STAR in the name. It would appear to be a souvenir compact from the shipping lines. Circa 1940s. The Compact measures 3" x 3" - square with rounded corners. ENJOY! |
