| A WHITING & DAVIS 1940s Gold Mesh Purse. The front of the frame is a marblized lucite carved in gold leaved stems with marquise rhinestone accents. The chain on the purse measures 12". The overall measurements of the purse are: Width at bottom 10" - height is 5 3/4" - the depth is 1 1/2". Frame #2982. The frame is goldplated over brass with signatures on the inside of the frame. The Lining is in good condition with no stains or tears. The overall condition is very good with only some minor nicks on the top of the frame from normal use. A great item for any collection and also ready to use and enjoy today. WHITING & DAVIS dates back to 1907 for its well-known manufacture of chain mail and mesh handbags. They also produced jewelry, including high quality reproductions of antique jewelry. Their jewelry is and always has been collectible. Their purses continue to enjoy high collectibility. ENJOY! |
